Hi, I'm Sarah,
Northwest Soapworks is a small, one-person, soap making business in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I believe that taking care of your skin shouldn't be a "luxury." I believe that sometimes the "old" way of doing things is better than the mass produced "cheap" or "easy" way of doing things.
I like making stuff. beer and soap are two of my favorites. I don't know if this is strange or not, but I don't like to cook, or bake. I started making beer when I saw the process on Food Network. Now I can make beer soap!
My first cold-process soap was nice, my next batch was nicer and I noticed my skin was starting to feel nice in the shower as well. I don't have a lot of skin issues but detergent, grocery store soap tends to leave skin feeling dry, and tight, and "squeaky" clean. Handmade soap, generally, is more gentle and leaves skin feeling clean and smooth, not tight. I think everyone should use handmade soap. I would love it if you bought some from me but any handmade soap from someone who cares about their process and ingredients is enough. Buy from a small, local, business or one of the larger companies that have more natural ingredients, just take care of your skin with handmade soap.
